7% LESS CARBON

AND COUNTING…

Leading the way to carbon neutrality.

In accordance with AGC’s Sustainability Manifesto and our ambition to safeguard the environment and preserve its natural resources, we’re proud to share the results of our 2023 carbon audit and the progress we’ve made towards a lower-impact future.

7% Less Carbon (GHG) Emissions

In 2024, we completed another third-party audit of our 2023 operations, covering Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. The results show a 7% like-for-like reduction in emissions compared with 2022 — a reflection of continuous improvements across our processes and supply chain.

We reported 72.5 tonnes of CO₂e in 2023 versus 78.2 tonnes in 2022, and for the first time included waste and recycling emissions in our reporting. Our efforts to reduce transport and logistics emissions also contributed to this measurable progress.

Carbon Offsetting with Forest Carbon

To achieve carbon neutrality, we continued our partnership with Forest Carbon, investing in high-quality reforestation and peatland restoration projects both in the UK and internationally.

Our 2023 offset strategy included:

96.7 tonnes CO₂e offset through the Forestal el Arriero project in Uruguay, supporting biodiversity, soil quality, and rural employment.

50 tonnes CO₂e offset in the UK through Carbon Club 50, planting around 200 trees annually in new permanent woodlands across Northumberland, the Scottish Highlands, and North Yorkshire.

These projects not only offset our emissions but also reinforce our commitment to long-term, nature-based solutions.

Validated Science-Based Targets (SBTi)

In 2024, we proudly became the first UK-based interior design collective to have our near-term greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction targets validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).

Through this validation, we have committed to reducing our Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 42% by 2030  from a 2022 base year - a target in line with the Paris Agreement’s most ambitious goal to limit global warming to 1.5°C.

We have also begun measuring our Scope 3 emissions, which represent the wider impact of our supply chain and will be our next major challenge.

Looking Ahead

Our 7% reduction is a milestone -  but only the beginning. Through ongoing measurement, meaningful partnerships, and transparent reporting, we’re ensuring our sustainability journey continues to move forward with purpose and accountability.
