SENIOR INTERIOR DESIGNER, SOPHIE WILSON REVEALS THE MOST SOUGHT AFTER TRENDS FROM THIS YEAR’S MAISON & OBJET.

In this rapidly growing Build-to-Rent industry, staying on top of the latest trends is imperative to the team. So much so that our Design & Buying teams are renowned for breaking boundaries and setting new trends, ultimately progressing our schemes in line with the ever-evolving lifestyles of your residents. Recently, our team has been busy exploring House Tours with Livingetc and travelling across seas to the Maison & Objet furniture show in Paris and more. Our award-winning BTR team reveal their favourite interior trends that you might spot in our new upcoming projects.

COLOURED GLASS

From tableware to lamps and vases, coloured and smoked glass was hot at Maison & Objet and apparent in this year’s Livingetc House Tours. With coloured glass being a seemingly popular trend with young professionals, in our Vertus 8 Water Street project, the designers opted for tinted glass coffee tables for a contemporary 70’s twist. But, of course, a home is not complete without its accessories, and we can’t wait to get our hands on some ornate coloured vases for our schemes.

SUSTAINABLY SOURCED CANE & RATTAN

On her recent return from Paris, Senior Interior Designer, Sophie Wilson revealed that the biggest trend she saw was the use of cane and rattan. Although this trend has been seemingly popular over the last year or so, this time it was matched with a sustainable guarantee. Did you know? Sustainability measures have already seen us achieve our ISO14001 Environmental accreditation, and we are committed to obtaining our B-Corp certification. With this trend here to stay, a statement rattan chair or cane webbed chest of drawers is the perfect bohemian yet modern finish.

NATURE & NEUTRALS

Above all, mindfulness and wellbeing remain the most significant focus for interiors. With Biophilic design a hot trend, Associate Director, Charlotte Robertson especially noted the number of living spaces finished with various plants when exploring the House Tours. Throughout the furniture show, Sophie particularly noticed neutral calming colours in the upholstery, not forgetting the cosy bouclé fabrics. Tying a room together, opting for a muted colour sofa allows you to bring in a statement rattan armchair finished with coloured glass vases for your plants.
